Do-It-Yourself Party Invitation Tips
Party-givers have access to a tremendous selection of free printable party invitations in these contemporary times. It seems like no matter what the occasion, there are an unbelievable number of free downloadable invitations you can print at home. There are, of course, plenty of the more mainstream variety, such as wedding anniversary invitations. But there's also a large selection of free printable invitations for very specific party types. For instance, there are free fairy princess party invitations, Mothers Day invitations and many others.
Printable invitations are relatively easy to produce if you have access to a word processing program, like Microsoft Word or Open Office; or a publishing program, like Microsoft Publisher. You just pop the invitation image into the software, make it the size you want and print it out. As basic as that may be, though, there are some subtleties it pays to be aware of when making the invitations. The following tips will help you grasp those subtleties and allow you to get the most value out of invitation art:
- If you're using word processing software program, use tables or text boxes to get two or more invitations on the page. This will save you a lot of time -- and card stock. (Using a table is the easier method. If you're not proficient with tables or text boxes, consult the word processing software help menu.) Make sure to match up a minumum of one at least one side of one invitation to the other, because that will eliminate one cut that you'll eventually have to make.
- When cutting the invitations, the most efficient method is to use a paper cutter. If you don't have one, you can get them cut inexpensively at a local instant print shop, copy center or office supply store that offers that service. If there isn't a store with a paper cutter in your area, another approach is to use a craft knife, ruler and cutting board. And if you don't want to use the knife, you can always use scissors. If you do, draw light pencil lines first, so you'll see where you should cut. If you don't think you'll be able to cut straight, try using patterned scissors that will hide any cutting imperfections.
- Once the invitations are cut out, you might want to decorate them. There is a wide array of three-dimensional embellishments available at craft stores. These include stickers, brads, rhinestones, artificial flowers and many other types of additions. You can also use glitter glue or dimensional paint to customize the invitations. Be careful with this, however, because less is truly more when using embellishments. Use the glue or paint sparingly. And it's a good idea to have extra invitations, so you can try things out a little until you get the look you want.
I hope these suggestions help you get the most out of any free printable invitations you plan to make. Have a good time making them!

Frequently Asked Questions...
what kind of digital camera is this?
I was at a party last week and a lady had a digital camera but she could put it on this little stand and print the pictures directly from the camera! She didnt use a computer or anything! she stood the camera on a small stand and press this button and the pictures printed! Can anyone tell me what kind of camera this is! where can i find it! and how much it would cost!If its not a promblem connect a web page showing me this camera! thanks in advance! your answers are gladly appreciated!
Answer:
A more flexible solution would be one of the stand-alone photo printers from Epson or HP. For those, you simply plug in any memory card from the digital camera, choose and modify the picture on a built-in screen, then print! I have an HP and it's been the hit of every party or gathering I've brought it to. Everybody who brought their digital camera could print pictures immediately. Imagine the possibilities at birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, showers, etc!
Watch the sales. You can find them at Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, etc for less than $80 on sale. Some of the new ones even come with battery packs.
