Go To The Dominican Republic To Have Memorable, Fun And Cheap Holidays
The Dominican Republic is an amazing holiday destination, thanks to luxury hotels, warm hospitality and brilliant beaches. Citizens of Europe and the Americas can be seen sunning themselves on the packed beaches having taken advantage of cheap holidays to the eastern half of the island of Hispanola. This is the part of the island, which the Dominican Republic shares with the less fortunate but no less beautiful Haiti.
Go to Punta Cana if you're looking for the liveliest area of the Island. Here you can find over 30 miles of beautiful coastline. Punta Cana is full of beautiful beaches bordered by the country’s best all inclusive hotels and resorts. For those that want to get away from the busy beaches of Playa Dorada, hire a car for the day to Uvero Alto to enjoy relatively deserted beaches, frequented by locals. A day at either of these beaches will allow you to enjoy relatively deserted beaches and provide the best day of uninterrupted sun bathing.
For a different type of excursion on their holidays, the Parque Nacional Los Haitises is excellent and holidaymakers are recommended to take their cameras. In the park visitors can see over 100 species of bird and admire the various aquatic life living in the expansive mangrove swamps. Whilst here explore the dozens of ancient caves, which used to be the home of the native Tainos, who were unfortunately almost completely wiped out when European settlers arrived on the island.
If you're yearning for some city life after lying on the beach for a week, then make the trip to the capital Santo Domingo. You might be surprised by the sheer size of the city, which seems large for a relatively small island. Here you'll find some historic sites including the oldest cathedral in the Western hemisphere, which is nearly 500 years old. You can easily see this city, as most cheap flights land here so consider spending a day here after landing.
