Where can I find art criticism specifically on paintings of Alfred Lord Tennyson's The Lady of Shalott?
Answer:
The only fine art representation of the poem was done by a 19th century artist named John Williams Waterhouse. I don't know how much criticism has been done on him-- he's considered a Neoclassical or a Pre-Raphaelite artist, but as far as I know isn't nearly as well-known as continental Europeans (such as Davíd or Rossetti) of the same periods. If you mean criticism of Tennyson's actual poem, I'd suggest looking it up under "Criticism of Alfred Lord Tennyson."
