Frequently Asked Questions...
Is there any software that can modify the sound of a mp3 to make it sound like vinyl while listening it?
I know the question is weird, but I really wonder if this exists, because I just love the vinyl discs warm sound, and the small "parasitic" noises, and I wish to make it sound like that on my computer. Does it exist? (Who knows!)
Answer:
First off, you're talking about two completely different sounds. Analog/vinyl has always been a much warmer sound for many reasons. The needle vibrating against the cylinder, the quality of the vinyl, etc. However you also mention you want the "surface noise". (pops/clicks, etc)
My question is why? If you want the sound of an warmer recording, just "oomph" up your bass a little bit in the low to mid-low range. Why add the record surface noise to it? I'm transferring several rare LP's to digital in my collection at the moment, and I'm running them through Adobe Audition to get RID of the surface noise!
